Samsung has just announced its first 30 inches screen LCD
comprising the new DisplayPort interface. It would offer a 10.8 Gbit/second
band-width , twice higher than thatthe
HDMI’s or DVI’s. Contrary to technology Dual Link DVI necessary to posting on a
screen LCD of 30 inches, a single DisplayPort cable is enough to post of 2560 X
1600 without the least degradation of color on this type of screen. According
to Samsung, the screen would post 1.07 million colors, and would have the
technology S-PVA (Super Patterned Vertical Alignment) which authorizes angles
of vision until 180°. The screens should be available during the second quarter
2008.

It is delivered with a remote control and can be connected to your computer. Of course this is not common and costs 450 euros.
The Japanese manufacturers will double the cooling speed
of their LCD TV.
The speed of cooling is a pledge of quality for the
TV display. Thus compared with the American and European
50Hz, Japan has been lucky, in particular on the video
games, with its 60Hz.
Nowadays, with the high resolution, the 100Hz is essential.
The faster the cooling of an image is, and the more
stable the image is. For example, a video of an explosion
saturates the screen with 60HZ, but remains partly visible
in 100Hz.
To understand the technological contribution of the
cooling speed, let us point out that in 60Hz an
image is refreshed every 16,7ms, against 8,3ms in 120Hz.
Thus three Japanese manufacturers of LCD TV have just
adopted the 120Hz technology, Sharp on its 52" screens
available since the end of last July, Sony on
its Motionflow line and JVC, which has started to deliver
its first 120Hz LCD since the last February, but
exclusively in Japan.
And during this time, IPS Alpha Technology has already
announced some LCD panels with a cooling speed of 180Hz…
